Environmental Project Manager

Location: St. Louis, MO

Status: Full Time

EMA, Inc is a nation‐wide full service environmental services firm. We provide a wide range of inter‐related services focused on environmental engineering firms, the oil and gas sector, and specialty chemical plants.

The successful candidate shall possess a solid technical background and excellent leadership qualities, with a strong ability to manage projects and staff, and develop quality work plans, reports, and proposals including cost estimates, project budgets, and schedules. The successful candidate shall have extensive knowledge related to site assessments, site investigations, and remediation projects. The candidate shall be self‐motivated, well organized, detail oriented, quality focused, safety‐minded, and able to multi‐task. The candidate shall have strong project estimating and client management skills with a demonstrated ability to grow and foster existing client relationships and proactively identify project opportunities and develop new clients.

  • >5 years of relevant and demonstrated project management experience within environmental remediation field;
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Hydrology, and/or Environmental Science;
  • Strong technical writing ability;
  • 40‐hour OSHA HAZWOPER and 8‐hour Supervisor’s certifications;
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical skills and judgment;
  • Ability to manage and mentor staff, and review and evaluate their work while fostering staff growth and development;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with contractors, clients, etc.;
  • Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Moderate travel is required;

Senior Environmental Sales Account Manager

Location: USA Gulf Coast Region

Status: Full Time

Currently, EMA has an immediate opportunity for a Senior Account Manager to service and build our core business in the Gulf Coast Area of TX, AL, LA, AZ, MS, and OK. The Senior Account Manager will report directly to the Senior Management Team. This aggressive, self-motivated sales professional, will have the tenacity and drive to build the territory through strategic selling to industrial generators and governmental prospects. The qualified candidate will be responsible for cold calling and follow-up with potential clients. Calls will include 50% selling of our remediation business and 50% selling our recycling and waste disposal services. Requirements include a college degree and a minimum five years proven selling experience in the hazardous waste field including RCRA and DOT exposure. Candidates must have business to business selling experience. Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Customer Service Coordinator

Location: St. Louis, Missouri

Status: Full Time

Primary Responsibilities

  • Answer customer phone calls and respond to inquiries
  • Aide Sales Representatives with support.
  • Perform waste profile duties, which include: create waste profile
  • Performing invoicing duties which includes: credit and debit memos
  • Create and maintain pricing access database
  • Type customer pricing quote letters
  • Communicate all discrepancies to the customers for resolution
  • Print labels and manifest.
  • Schedule and coordinate customer waste pickups and deliveries.
  • Travel to customer site with Sales Representatives when necessary.

Education and Experience Required

Minimum associate’s degree a bachelor’s degree preferred in applied Science with a strong chemistry, environmental science, or related technical background required. Requires computer skills such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Applicant must possess strong organizational, oral communication, writing, customer service skills, and strong team skills. Must be willing to travel on occasion to customer sites.

Class A & B CDL Drivers

Location: St. Louis, Missouri

Status: Full Time/Part Time

Travel Required: Unlimited

Primary Responsibilities

  • Drive/operate hi-rail rotary dump trucks, roll-off trucks, vacuum trucks and box trucks
  • Prepare daily trip inspections, responsible for pre & post trip inspection of vehicle, equipment, fueling truck, and ensuring all equipment is in excellent operating order
  • Complete manifest or bill of lading documents, company issued forms, and other marking and placarding documents for every load managed
  • Operation of lift gate
  • Inspect all drums/containers - must have proper labels and markings
  • Maintain logbook for DOT compliance
  • Maintain operating hours to meet required guidelines
  • All positions require the ability to obtain a security clearance badge as required by clients
  • All positions require various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules due to emergency response work
  • Emergency response/travel will be required

Primary Responsibilities

  • Operate skid steer, mini-excavator, fork truck, back hoe, hi-lift, dozer & excavator
  • Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner in order to minimize the risk of injury, property or equipment damage, and loss of life
  • Will be required to participate in the EMA Heavy/Equipment Operator Competency Program
  • Perform daily safety and maintenance checks
  • Clean equipment as scheduled or required
  • Ensure equipment is safely and securely stored
  • Make sure equipment is filled with fuel after every job is completed or transported to another site
  • Communicate with Project Manager with regards to any issue related to the specific piece of equipment to be operated (i.e. damages, mechanical, rental cycles, or maintenance)
  • Must have at least 5 years experience operating equipment

Field Technician

Location: St. Louis, Missouri

Primary Responsibilities

  • Performs all aspects of hazardous waste management to include, but not limited to the following:
    1. Remediation/restoration
    2. Vessel cleaning
    3. Confined space entry
    4. Demolition actives
    5. Line jetting
    6. Drum handling
  • Technician will be required to wear both Level B & C protective equipment to make entries as required and for spill response activities
  • Technician will be required to posses the ability to understand and implement technical procedures relating to cleaning processes and waste removal activities
  • Have an understanding of MSDS's
  • Have strong interpersonal skills and work well in a small group
  • Adapt to new situations rapidly and frequent work environment changes
  • Work with chemicals and in plant environments with basic understanding of hazardous materials as it relates to HSE plans
  • Comply with facility safety process and procedures in addition to PPE requirements
  • Ability to operate forklifts, vacuum units, pressure washers, confined space equipment
  • Perform labor-intensive job duties, daily confined space entires, lifting items up to 50lbs and working from heights
  • Executes the operating policies and procedures of the supervisor
  • General understanding and can follow 29 CFR 1910.120
  • Ability to wear a respirator and does not exhibit or possess claustrophobia
